Please do get in touch with us on 01297 443136 we will be delighted to hear from you.

Telephone Booking

Dear Customers,

We try our best to answer calls as they come through. Also, during our food service times between 12 and 2 on a lunch time and 5.30pm and 8.30pm in the evenings it is sometimes not possible to take your booking over the phone as we are busy serving customers who have already booked and are eating with us. If you could ring outside of these hours it would be much appreciated.

Our wonderful loyal staff are incredible and are working extremely hard, please bear this in mind if you call at a busy time and they cannot attend to your request there and then. We simply will not accept our staff being shouted at or sworn at by any customer who for whatever reason cannot have their request dealt with immediately! We will however ask you to call back at the end of the meal time service or leave a number and we will endeavour to return your call – but not if you have been unkind or disrespectful. “If you can be anything, be kind.”

Warmest Wishes,
Team Talbot

Free House

Steve and Wendy endeavour as much as possible to source the wonderful regional products of The West Country. We have always had a great relationship with our Local Brewery, ‘Otter Brewery’ based in Luppitt Near Honiton, which is only a 30 min drive from our Pub. We have a regular weekly delivery which ensures we can always offer our locals and visitors a great pint of Otter Bitter, Otter Ale and all other Otter seasonal Brews.

Real Ale

We endeavour as much as possible to source the wonderful regional products of The West Country. We have always had a great relationship with our Local Brewery. Our Ciders are of course, as you would expect are local, from Devon and Somerset Orchards, and we serve at least two different lagers and Draught Guinness. We have a good selection of Red, White and Rose Wine. We also serve a good selection of West Country Gins and some tried and tested cocktails.

B&B Accommodation

Our 5 bed and breakfast rooms are situated at the rear of the pub in the garden area. The lovely thing about our rooms is that you can come and go as you please without having to come through the pub. Each B&B room has its very own front door which you access by going around to the back of the pub. Because of the lovely location of our bed and breakfast rooms, we can accommodate late arrivals and late check outs, just discuss this with us when you book.

Beer Garden

We are fortunate to have lovely garden areas to sit, chat, eat and drink. We have areas where you can sit in the brilliant sunshine or if you prefer in the cool and shade. Our green fingered staff and local nurseries ensure we have lots of lovely flowering tubs, baskets and colourful borders.

Best Roast Lunch!

“We were staying in nearby Lyme Regis and fancied a pub lunch. The Talbot arms serves the best roast beef!!!! The veg was great and we were told we could have more if we wanted. The staff were lovely. I wish them well in these weird times.”

This is the place for dinner.

“Short menu of home cooked yummy stuff. That can be easily delivered on time. Great fish pie and lasagne etc. Plus some stuff from the grill. Burgers etc. Feels very safe with a high attention to detail. We ate out a few times and this was the best organised. I know some folk are reluctant to eat out. So if you want to try it. This is the place.”

Just what we needed.

“Camping nearby and felt like a change: good beer (Otter brewery); nice food in generous quantities (we had fish pie and veggie lasagne – but the highlight was the warm treacle tart and clotted cream) and really friendly manager and staff. Thank you for a lovely evening!”=
